July 24, 2014[ NEW Tektron TK211S-I REF, the Reference Integrated Stereo Amplifier ]
August 21, 2014We got an excellent news for those who always liked Cantata C 50 amplifier ,but could not survive with 50 Watts power. Resolution Audio has released a new addition to its Cantata series: the M100 mono amplifier. The Cantata M100 uses the same discrete Class A/B circuit topology as the company’s C50 integrated amplifier but, as the model number implies, has a power output of 100-watts. Because of the circuitry being essentially the same as the C50, the sonic signature of the M100 is also essentially the same. The difference is that because the M100 provides twice as much output power per channel, there is a greater dynamic capability even at lower listening levels, courtesy of the additional headroom in the power supply, so now a full Cantata system can be enjoyed even when using less efficient loudspeakers. Also, because the M100 omits some of the switching and volume control circuitry that’s used in the C-50, there’s also more more control and grip on the low end, and a little bit more transparency and detail in the mids and highs.
The M100 mono amplifier has two sets of banana-jack speaker terminals to accommodate bi-wire configurations and accepts either RCA or XLR inputs (you can use either, but not both, since you need to bridge the XLR terminals to use the RCA terminals). Unlike Resolution Audio’s other Cantata products, the M100 does not feature Cantata-Link. Available now, the Resolution Audio Cantata M100 mono power amplifiers retail for £ 7,200 per pair (or £ 3,600 each).
