As a starting point, we are carrying only demonstration samples of SILVERCORE’s most standardised creations. However, we are more than happy to discuss the art of the possible, as there is always the option for custom creations. We are honoured to be accepted as an official partner of such an extraordinary creator.
SILVERCORE has been around for more than decade, founded by German engineer Christof Kraus and is no regular company; rather it is one-man crew operating on an artisan basis, creating products of pure performance and beauty.Chris’s background in architecture and vast interest in the arts plays a big part in the visual styling of his designs. Not only are his creations built with extreme care in terms of the purity of the circuit, his unique sense of the proper proportions, usability and functionality ensure that all his creations are equipped with everything that is needed as standard, without unnecessary fanciness – unless, of course, one dares to ask for that – if you ask, you will be accommodated, so don’t be shy!
As a result of SILVERCORE’s constant and continued pursuit of perfection in creating only the best, the product range is small, but perfectly aligned. All of the products in the range are listed below. With the passage of time, and as one-off orders pass through our hands, we hope to add a further “custom products” section later. It might take some time, but it will be definitely worth waiting for.

The Phono Two is a world class tube Phono with passive LCR RIAA. It is already equipped with SC’s best MC transformers and internally switchable to MM mode via micro toggles.
She is an excellent MM and outstanding MC Phono stage. It amplifies without any artifacts, does not sound like a tube or a transistor, liberates the music for the music and lets it come to its natural right. From this level, the sound can only be different, not better. No matter which (silver hybrid or pure silver) you take, you will not waste your thoughts on other phono levels – promised.

Reference MC Step Up
Step Up Transformer
- 100 ohms / 1:10 is a universal transformer for pickups up to 40 ohms and a signal voltage of 250 to 750μV
- 25 ohms / 1:20 for low-impedance pickups up to 12 ohms which require a higher voltage gain, ie signal voltages of 150 to 400μV
- SPU special as the name says, the special transformer for the Ortofon SPU
The transformers used are nanocrystalline ring cores. The high resonance fq and the frequency-linear mapping make it possible to completely eliminate internal matching resistances, so that the music signal only passes through the transformer. This has the advantage that the music signal is not additionally attenuated and therefore louder than in conventional transformers. Of course, the transformers are encapsulated separately in MU metal for shielding to keep out interference from the transmitter. The wiring of the transformer takes place in the input symmetrical groundless, the output can be switched either floating or grounded (ground-lift switch). We wind our transformers in high-purity OFC-4N 99.99 silver wire, which is manufactured especially for our high demands.

- 100 ohms / 1:10 is a universal transformer for pickups up to 40 ohms and a signal voltage of 250 to 750μV

- EMT Spezial is a transformer specially optimized for the EMT Tondose with a gear ratio of 1: 5
- SPU Spezial is a transformer specially optimized for the Ortofon SPU with a gear ratio of 1:20
The theoretically ideal transformer possesses as possible no winding resistance and a core material having the lowest magnetic losses. This ideal comes very close to our “mc pro” with its lavishly dimensioned nanocrystalline ring core and a primary winding made of specially made wire strand with fabulously low 0.1 ohm DC resistance. Not only does it dampen the tone of the pickup less, the pickup can also play much louder. Overall, the transmission is lossless and with more dynamic range. The high resonance frequency and the frequency-linear mapping, like in MC range, make it possible to completely eliminate internal matching resistances. Additionally, the wiring of the transformers is consistently symmetrical, so that hum loops are suppressed effectively, accordingly, the device is equipped with Neutrik XLR sockets. If you want to operate the device unbalanced, you can either adapter from RCA to XLR or XLR to RCA use or order the same with RCA sockets. The Silvercore professional transformer are made of high purity 4N OFC silver wire. This wire is manufactured according to SC’s high requirements exclusively.

The Line Two has 6 cinch inputs. The selector switch is located next to the jacks on the input board to minimize cable runs. A combination of input transformer and switched resistor network takes over the volume control in 48 stages of 2dB each. The amplifier tube is thus elegantly decoupled from the source devices and can work load-stable. In order to drive long cables we need a low-impedance output. Therefore, behind the tube stage is an output transformer with two separate balanced outputs for the amplifier and subwoofer. Also, the connection of a headphone is possible via the additional output. The transformers are wound on nanocrystalline FINEMET cores, optionally in silver alloy 20 or pure silver wire. The only capacitor in the signal path is a zinc foil type, which I bridge with a silver mica. All SN foil and silver mica capacitors are produced especially for SC in Germany.

The “Wahnfried Edition” is a tube high-level pre-amp with 6 XLR balanced inputs and a tap loop. Two selected and matched double triodes per channel take over the amplification. An output transformer with two separate balanced outputs for amplifier and subwoofer increases the flexibility. If you do not need the subwoofer output, you can use it as a headphone output. The use of highest quality components is crowned by my transformers in pure silver wire on nanocrystalline INEMET cores. A special highlight is the volume control of the “Wahnfried”. It consists of a combination of input transformer and switched resistor network and is manually switched in 48 stages – optionally also in 96 stages via relay control with remote control. The amplifier tube is thus elegantly decoupled from the source devices and can work load-stable. The sound of the “Wahnfried” exceeds everything I could ever imagine.
